I'm just going to start with the one thing I didn't like, cause the rest of the episode was awesome. I hated how easily you could see that whole Pandora's Box thing coming. As soon as I saw the whole death in a box and negative emotions thing I figured it out. And I'm sure that you guys probably did, too, cause you're all smart!

Now that's out of the way, here's some of my favorite moments:

*Southern Bell Vicki. Cute and hilarious! Southern Bell Henry? Scary and disturbing. I so could have lived without that...

*"Who's Benoir Fornier?", "Him", "....Oh." Just the look on Mike's face was priceless!

*The goblet breaking in the end. Obviously, fate just REALLY didn't like that goblet.

As far as the actual episode itsself, I really liked this week's! I've seen a bunch of shows where the day's repeated over and over, and I can honestly say that this one is the most entertaining. I think it may be the fact that Henry actually believes her right off the bat, where as on the other shows it took pretty much the entire episode for the characters to do that.

As far as relationships go, I was happy to see Coreen and Henry get back to the brother/sister sort of ship there when Henry vamps out.

I don't know about you all, but I personally didn't really see any residual sexual tention accompanying Vicki's jealousy of Kate. It seemed more like she's just now coming to terms with the fact that yes, it's actually over with Mike, romance wise. But you can still see how much they truly love each other. I think it's going to end up being one of those Buffy/Angel things, where they'll always love each other but know it doesn't work.

Vicki and Henry on the other hand are a little bit more complex. You actually saw how much Henry cares about Vicki. After all, like she said, "You ended the world for me." And the biting in the end? Oh boy... If that didn't just shoot straight to your crotch I don't know what will! *blush*

I like the little semi-truce that happened with Vicki and Kate. Too bad that Kate doesn't actually remember it. I wish that she had. You know, Kate's actually growing on me. Maybe it's the fact that she actually seems so human with her insecurities about Mike.

Oh, and one more comment? There are simply no words to describe how much I loved Henry's demeanor when he was telling Keller and Benoir to sit down. Not the vamp face, though that was cool, I meant his actual posture and arm position. It was so regal! I could honestly see him as he was when he was mortal for a moment, and those moments are the ones that I always love to see.

Cool Soundtrack

So, I was surfing around on livejournal, checking out all of the Moonlight/Blood Ties communities, and I stumbled across this! I thought it was nifty and decided to try it. This is what happened:

1. Open your music library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.).
2. Put it on shuffle and press play.
3. For every question, type the song that's playing. When you go to a new question, go to the next song.
4. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.

So wow, most of them actually came out okay. I'd really hope that "O' Sailor" wasn't playing at my wedding or Ildewilde at my funeral, but other than that, not bad!

Wild Blood

I was a bit worried that I was losing my interest in the series when I didn't get that kick out of watching the last episode. But my fears were totally relieved when I saw this week's! I'll try not to bore you by repeating anything that phantomminuet said (and she said a lot of great things that I was totally going to hit on! ^_^) and just focusing on the other little bits.

First of all, I loved the funny moments in this episode, but....weredolphins? WEREDOLPHINS?! Where the hell did that come from?! I laughed so hard when I heard that! I'm with phantomminuet on the "Your Lordship", "Constable" line all the way. Probably my favorite line from this week's episode! Well, that and Henry's "it needs bigger teeth" comment. The sniping is back and better than ever! *squeels*

Now, there was something odd I noticed about this episode, but maybe it was just me. Did any one else notice that Henry's smiles/laughter seemed a bit to genuine? Meaning, it seemed more like Kyle was ACTUALLY smiling or laughing at something? Especially that first little laugh in the episode, I was sitting there and thinking, "What is Kyle laughing at?" Henry in general seemed to smile and laugh more in this episode than any other so far in the series. Is it because he's happy now that Vicki considers him a part of her team? Or just because he's finally finding that flow that Vicki and Mike had?

I loved how predatory he looked lounging on the lit table, drawing Mike. Now, I'm not exactly a Henry/Mike shipper, but if I was I'd be writing fanfic based on that moment alone! Well, that and that extremely jealous face he had when Mike and Vicki got close, talking. Maybe I should? Been a while since I've written a drabble. Let me know what you think...

There was no Correen in this episode, and I'm kind of wondering why she wasn't there. Or why there wasn't any mention of her. Or maybe there was? Cause, the thing is, I missed the first 3 minutes, and I don't know what was said between Henry and Vicki before he started talking about losing family and friends. If anyone has the dialogue, could you please pass it along? Thanks!

New Episode

I don't really have a lot to say about this week's episode. Unfortunately, I missed the first 5 minutes because I had just gotten home from work and was dead tired and thus, not nearly as observant as I would have liked. But on to the actual comments....

Sexual tension seems to be the main theme of this week's episode. Mike and Vicki no longer seem to have that UST, but rather seem to be falling into "friend mode" rather easily. And by the last few minutes, it would appear that he's even begun to slowly accept the fact that there's no way he'll be able to get Vicki to stay away from Henry. So he's dealing. And rather well, may I add!

Henry and Vicki's tension was up a bit, and their comfort level with each other also seems to be growing. At one point, when they were talking before Coreen walked in with the coffee, you could see that there was definitely going to be some sort of romantic involvement in the future. And while Henry's not completely Vicki's partner, as far as her P.I. business goes, she's definitely accepted him into the business itself. You can tell it's only going to be a matter of time before he's bumped up to partner status. It'll be interesting to watch the conflict between Mike and Henry (and Vicki for that matter) when that happens!

I couldn't stand the way that Coreen was just throwing herself at Henry. It wasn't cute and coy like in the first half of the season. That was almost endearing and heartbreaking, like watching a puppy. But now? Mmm, not so much. I'm simultaneously glad and feel bad about how blatantly Henry dismissed her advances. Not that I want Henry to get with Coreen in the show (fanfiction is something else entirely!), but it was a bit harsh. But she's a persistant little thing, and decides to intervene with him and Vicki anyway in that little coffee moment later on. I'm a bit confused about why the writer's would add this twist all of a sudden, especially seeing as how Gina Holden's not actually working on the show anymore since her involvement with Flash Gordon (which btw, she's great on!). I at first thought that they might kill her off (which I, personally, would have preferred, cause I like dramatic and morose stuff like that and she would have been the sweet, cute Coreen that I grew to love), but now I'm thinking that they may just have her get fed up with the whole Vicki/Henry connection and leave. After all, she did drop out of school. Maybe they'll have her go back? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Blood Ties 5/6

This week's episode didn't really seem to move the plot along in any sort of way. Nothing new about characters were revealed (except for "Henry the Mobster" lol). But that doesn't mean it wasn't a good episode. I'm a big fan of the whole "full circle" concept in shows, so of course the reference in the beginning and ending of the episode to the scent of death was a big plus in my book. There was flirting with both Henry and Mike on the part of Vicki, so nothing new there. A couple of very minor observations, though. First off, did anyone notice that after Vicki kissed Henry for the teaser, he moved in for another round? I don't know about you guys, but I think that if Vicki hadn't been recording those other people's...um...conversation...that she probably would have gone for it, too. Or was that just me? Anyway, another one of the favorite things that I noticed (that sort of overlaps with the books) was how protective Henry seemed of Mike in the scene in the drome. You know, where he actually rushes over to him and reaches out to him, asking if he's alright? In the books, Huff mentions how Henry views Mike, Vicki, and Toni as his people, and Toronto as his kingdom. Anyway, I liked how they did that little snippet.

My last observation is on a rather somber note. Anyone notice Vicki's suicidal thoughts? This would be the second or third time she's mentioned death in an almost longing manner. The other time that sticks into my mind was last week's episode when she was drinking and made a comment about how she wished she could sleep and didn't have to wake up. This week she made a mention with a very odd look on her face about the sweetness of death. And I'm pretty sure there was another comment in another episode where she related death the sleep, mentioning the whole not waking up thing again. I don't think that this has anything to do with the storyline or that the writers will do anything with this, it's just something I noticed.

And before I forget, I have to mention Coreen. I couldn't help but wonder why she got so freaked out about the scene in the Necrodrome. Why'd she run away like that? I can see where it might make her uncomfortable like it did Vicki and Mike, but I don't know why she'd actually have to leave the room. And you can even tell that Vicki was worried about her (before she got sidetracked by the case) when she calls out to her. She sounded on the verge of tears, even. More of the mystery that it Correen, I guess.

I Just Wanna Play

I just got an e-mail from someone that I met at a benefit I performed at last month. She had mentioned when I met her that she was wondering if I'd be intersted playing at the open-mic type event (very anti-everything bad, basically). I, of course, said yes. She just e-mailed me today telling me it would be on Saturday. I said that I would try to make it, and I've gotta say, I'm really psyched. One problem, though; I've been having major problems with my left wrist. I've already sprained it twice, and for some reason this past week it's been acting up. I tried to play my guitar a few minutes ago and was in total agony. Like, crying cause it hurt so much agony. It hurts to even type, really. I don't know what's wrong with it, but I'm hoping it's better by Friday.

Pet Peeves

You know those certain things that people do that make you just want to commit mass murder? Well, a friend of mine just did one of these things. Again. And I am severely pissed off. So I'll just post this little list of my pet peeves:

1.) Sending someone a message on myspace asking "wanna meet a bunch of us at 6 to see a movie?" Gaaah!! First of all, I have a life, and I don't check my myspace every day. I don't sit around at my computer waiting for someone to send me a message via a networking site. You wanna get together with me? Call me! That's why they invented fucking phones! Amazing concept, right? Well guess what, they've been around for over 100 years; use one!

2.) People at coffee shops/cafes who leave their coat over an unoccupied seat. I thing I hate this particular action above all others. You know exactly what I'm talking about, too, because I know you probably see it all the time. You're in the middle of a coffee shop with your piping hot beverage of goodness and a couple of good books you want to take notes on or your trusty notepad to write your thoughts on, and there's not an open chair in sight. But then you look closer and you realize, wait, there's about a dozen empty chairs just chillin' out there with people's coats on them. But, of course, in our society, it's 'improper' to ask a person if you can use the seat that THEIR coat is occupying. As a rule, to avoid inflicting this annoyance upon other people, I hang my coat of the back of my own chair and set my bag (I don't do purses) on the floor beside me with the strap wrapped around my ankle (I am a New Yorker after all). This way, I am displaying a message that says, 'Look! This seat is empty! Please, feel free to use it!' Of course, then there's the additional aggravation of those people who see an empty seat at your table and just take it, not even bothering to ask. Because what if I didn't have a coat and I was meeting someone? Huh? Then you have to yell at them and seem like a jerk, even though THEY'RE the asshole that tried to steal your chair in the first place.

3.) When someone interrupts you while you're in the middle of reading/writing/drawing/watching something that you're really into. My brother is notorious for this one. I'll be sitting on the couch, usually writing or playing my guitar, and he'll just rattle on and on. And I don't want to get into an argument with him by telling him to shut up (plus I'll hurt his feelings. He doesn't really have all that many people to talk to at 2 in the morning) so I just smile and nod my head at whatever he's saying. If I get really annoyed, though, he can tell because I'll let out a small sigh. He immediately apologizes for interrupting me and actually feels bad about it, which makes me feel bad and tell him to continue and that it wasn't important (even though it was). Of course, this isn't just a habit of my brother. Tons of people do this. I bet you're thinking about someone right now that tends to do this. Annoying isn't it?

And finally....

4.) The potheads who tell me it's disgusting to smoke cigarettes. Okay, first of all, you're a fucking pothead! Your opinion in the matter has no weight, seeing as how you've already killed about half of your brain cells if you've baked today. Secondly, I don't give my opinion of you smoking pot, now do I? You want to smoke pot? Smoke pot! I don't care! I don't have anything against it, really. In my opinion, it's pretty harmless (except for the reduction of brain cells). However, if I DID feel strongly about it, I still wouldn't go off on you for smoking it. It's none of my damn business! And me smoking a cigarette shouldn't be yours! Plus, there's just as much bad shit in pot as there is in tobacco, so don't you dare get on your high horse! By the way, this is in no way directed to the people reading this (unless you're one of these people, then this is me yelling at you). I just don't want everyone reading this journal to think that I'm bitching them out for something they didn't do.

So those are a few of my pet peeves. Can anyone relate, or is this just me?

Math Sux

Okay, so tomorrow's the ACT, and I know I'll do really well on the English and Reading and Writing portions, and I think I'll do okay on the science, but the math? I'm going to die! I just don't do math! Me and math aren't friends! At all! I should just kill myself now and get it over with, cause with the score I'm going to get, I'll never get into college. And then I'll be a starving artist on the streets and just die anyway... *whimper*

Old Writings

I came across this screenplay that I was working on a couple of months back. I had only written three or four scenes, I think, but I liked what I had so far. I don't know what will ever come of it. It definitely wouldn't be able to see the light of day until college. For one, the content would be "inappropriate" for a high school classroom and for another I'd need actors who could actually, well....act. I don't mean for that to sound cruel or as a stab in any way towards high school actors. Hell, I'm one! It's just that nearly the entire screenplay depends on subtle movements and glances rather than dialogue. In fact, for ever one page I wrote of dialogue, there would be about 5 pages that I had written of direction. I'm so anal about some things. It's like, I can see in my head exactly what I want the actors to say, how I want them to move, practically down to breathing. I had considered, because it was so detailed, on creating a short story out of it instead, but there are a few problems with that. One of these problems is the fact I would need to write down what the characters were thinking, and part of the charm (at least in my opinion) of this screenplay is that the viewer doesn't. He/she needs to come up with their own assumptions on what the characters are feeling, thinking, and especially, what they really mean in those short, vague sentences of dialogue.
I sometimes wonder why I even bother writing these things at all. Like the play, Human Relations, that I wrote last year. I had several people read through it, including my drama teacher, and they all really liked it and were totally supportive of being involved with it when I was done editing it. But, of course, nothing would ever come of it. Why? Because it would be considered too "mature". Not because of the language (there's hardly any swearing) and not because of any sexual content (nothing is ever explicitly described or acted out). No, it's simply because a high school audience and their parents wouldn't be able to handle a play about a homosexual teenage boy. How stupid is that? And even if I had been able to put it on, who would I ever get to play the main character? Or his crush, who appears in only one scene, with an optional kiss. Teenage boys are simply not secure enough in their own sexuality to portray a gay character. They wouldn't even audition. Not that there are many boys that are involved with drama in our high school, anyway. But back to the point, nothing will ever come of that play, just as I'm certain that nothing will come of this screenplay that I'm writing. I'm not majoring or even minoring in film when I get to college. And though I will be minoring in theatre, I don't know if filmmaking will be in any part of that.
Of course, I suppose that if I don't express myself creatively one way or another I'd go insane. Literally. And as useful as that can be when writing, there's that whole bothersome bit of other people interfering. I could never just hermit myself up, alone, and come out a year later with the next great novel. I would end up clawing at the walls and sending up smoke signals by the second week. I need human contact, even if just to observe. No, I take that back. I need to actually interact with another human being in some way or another at least every couple of days or else I just feel sick. I think that's how it is for most people in urban areas, though. God forbid I ever move to the country. I think I'd hang myself.
